Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 Froyo update delayed in Spain & India [Updated]

Froyo may have hit for the Motorola DROID X – and with good effect – but we're still waiting for the Android 2.2 update for one of our other favorite big-screen smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S.  Unfortunately there's still plenty of confusion as to when exactly Froyo for the Galaxy S might drop.  Samsung UK maintains it's due for UK handsets before the end of September (and will be distributed via the company's Kies PC software tool), but other regions say it won't arrive until sometime in October.

Samsung Spain updated its Facebook page to confirm the delay, while Samsung India used Twitter to confirm the October window.  This could be to do with regional differences – language packs, local carrier deals and other issues – or alternatively a sign of some last-minute tweaking Samsung is having to do in order to fix final bugs.

Update: T-Mobile UK has announced that the Android 2.2 update for their version of the Samsung Galaxy S will be released at the end of September.
