If they could get the price right, that could be a great product. Maybe when / if the Note 2 is released they could use and market the Note 1 hardware in a Wi-Fi only version.

Except for the stylus there already is a 5″ variant out there, and a 5.0plus coming down the pipeline.

It’s not insignificant that Samsung put an FM radio on this player. The ipod doesn’t have one, and guess what most gyms broadcast their TV shows on? Yup, FM transmitters. If you have an ipod touch or iphone you’re screwed on listening to your favorite TV show.

The single core processor and low resolution signal that this isn’t going to cost that much. I’ll bet they undercut the ipod by at least $50. I think this could be a serious hit. Samsung’s previous attempts were just too large to be primary MP3 player.

Kudo’s to Samsung for finally making a media player you can actually wear on your arm and take out on a run. Most people listen to music on their media player more than they watch video so the increased portability would make more people happy. You rarely see big Android devices at the gym, with good reason.

Looks like Samsung’s really going for a full court assault on the Apple empire. I hope it succeeds. More competition is always better for consumers.
