All these pad/tablet discussions and comparisons are useless if one
leaves the end-user out of the picture. I am a scientist and I have the
newest I-pad. For me this I-pad is just an larger I-pod touch, basically
an entertainment center with limited use for business/work. I need a
pad/tablet that is light, I want to take notes, store them,, do handwriting
recognition, type documents, can manage citations of publications, read
publications/books, run excel and make graphs create a power point ,
give lectures, record lectures... I had for years an old clunky heavy
tablet PC that could do all this and it was and was a useful tool-- just
it is way to heavy. SO I hope with Windows 8 and a lighter tablet I
will be able to do this. AS I said it depends on the end-user. Any
serious businessman even accountant will give preference to a machine
that can run a program like excel than any current I-pad/android. These
are nice for home/vacation but after all just (although serious)
entertainment -toys for TV/video/music , games and social
communications.

You've never tried an Android Tablet. They're very nice. Particularly the Samsung tablets. If they sucked so bad Apple wouldn't be suing them.
