Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 photo examples appear in Google+

With the next Samsung device event coming up quick – June 20th, that is, a selection of devices have been appearing: smartphones to notebooks to cameras. Today's appearance is by a device code-named EK-GN120 and suggested to be known in the market as the Samsung Galaxy Camera II (aka Samsung Galaxy Camera 2). This device would, if proven to be legitimate, work with a 20.9-megapixel camera lens.

This device is said to be a separate device entirely from the Samsung Galaxy Zoom, a smartphone-first camera-second sort of device likely also appearing at this London event later this month. The Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 would take on a form closer to the original Samsung Galaxy Camera, a device that's found itself to be handy for technology journalists across the board throughout this year.

Because the Samsung Galaxy Camera was only first introduced less than a year ago, it would be a bit odd if Samsung decided to release another here right after the market push for the Samsung GALAXY S 4. The big differentiator between this potential release and release schedules for other similar devices is that there's no real schedule set in plat for the Galaxy Camera – there's only one, after all.

The demo photos appearing here come from a device that's not yet appeared in the flesh and does not match up with the Samsung Galaxy Zoom. Because of this, the resolution of 5472 x 3080 on one of the three photos shows a mighty 20.9-megapixel sensor for a new product, one we'll be seeing soon. Expect to see this machine on the 20th, if not rather soon after said event.

The photo of the side of a computer comes from a GT-I9505, aka Samsung GALAXY S 4 in the same environment as the rest of the photos – herein lies a very, very rudimentary opportunity for comparison between the phone and the camera. Have fun!
