Recent conversation with both Verizon and Samsung resulted in the fact that they are not sure when Android 2.2 for the Fascinate will be released. This conversation occurred on 3-1-11.. You just can’t trust Verizon to give a really honest answer when buying their phone.

welp OS 2.2 was supposed to be right around the corner.So far nothing except that assinine DL09 which killed the usb connections.. So i am in search for android 2.2 or 2.3 and if i have to i will root and unlock this beast and install the os from somewhere in the world.. i cant program no how so what do I care if the OS is written in English or whatever.. like some here i held the incredible droid s, and many and was talked into the fascinate.. But i bought it for 45 bucks at wall Mart.. so if all else fails, i’ll just buy the newest kid on the block when it arrives,, there is a thing that pisses me off about these smart phones and even the everyday cell phone. They act like they are brand new here on east coast but when you look around the phones were in California a year ago or more,,I hate being decieved.

I guess your sources are bad? You should know better that Verizon always messes up these types of documents all the time. Only a seasoned writer would know that. It is more then a common occurance with them.

When I bought my phone in October I was told 2.2 was around the corner (no later then the end of 2010) and then the phone would be much better than the Motorola phones being offered… just stamp “sucker” on my forehead.

It is January 8th and still no sign of Froyo. Good call on the whole “by the end of 2010″ prediction. Thanks Samsung. I held both the Fascinate and the Droid X in my hand when I was buying a new phone back in October. To think I could have spent a lot of money on a phone that was cutting edge and competitive. But no, I chose the Fascinate. Yay for me.

Dude, are you like a Samsung employee trying to sway public opinion on here or something? The fact that I bought an expensive ass phone that is MONTHS behind everyone else is really starting to piss me off. I mean, if this was an update that fixed some minor glitches on apps that I never really use, then it would be no big deal. But this friggin update gives the phone Flash capabilities which is a HUGE deal, and Samsung is dropping the ball big time. If this is a sign of things to come, them I am seriously regretting getting this phone.

I hope we see Froyo soon, seeing as Canada just received it. However, I am also a realist and assume we wont see it until mid to late January if we’re lucky. Doesn’t bother me too much though. Aside from a few bugs and such, I completely love my phone. And it is still better than a lot I have used, even with eclair.

This is an old photo as it lists the Droid X as having 2.1. The interesting thing here is that Samsung apparently misled the carrier as well as the consumer about when Froyo will be released for their phones.

Wow. Updates taking Months and years… 2.3 and 3.0 will be out before this phone gets 2.2
The Only reason I won’t android. Call apple restrictive but at least my restriction isn’t updated my phone may need.

Android 2.2 is suposed to have the beloved adobe flash pre-installed. If I must wait forever to get version 2.2 in my Fasinate I might as well go with AT&T. There I know at least I can’t ever have flash.

While its about time,im not gonna hold my breath or get my.hopes up anymore till 2.2 is installed.ive been teased and let down by verizon too many times for this
