Good point Jon, I liked your car speed analogy. Right now in 2011 I just don’t need 4G speed for everyday use, but I like knowing I have it.

If anyone needs ludicrous-speed on their phone (for whatever reason) then all they need to do is tap into their local WiFi. I have WiFi at Work and at Home and as much as I like Netflix, I’d go cross-eyed trying to stream a 2-hour movie on my phone, besides I have a huge 1080p TV at home for that. FYI: Just got my Epic Touch 4G today (my iPhone 3G can finally rest).

That was an excellent video for looking out an airplane window. Just imagine what straight video looks like. Excellent.

That was a takeoff from Phoenix Sky Harbor fyi. Great place to catch a plane ride to and from. The colors of the desert are beautiful so long as you have a window that isn’t all scratched up.

Nice phone! I had a client who came in today with Samsung Epic 4G and
she had me take a couple of pics of a ring she is looking at and the
camera on that phone was fantastic. Hate to say it, but her camera is
WAY better than the camera on my Droid 3. I think I saw an article
recently that where Verizon is getting a version the Samsung Epic 4G but
with LTE….that would be an awesome phone I just got a $829.99 iPåd2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HDTV for only $251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prices at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.

Go ahead and run your lte for about an hr. Then what will you do the rest of the month? Your puny 2g data will be used up. I dont get verizon. Went to check out the Bionic. Sales person says”if you have netfix you can watch movies on your phone”. How much would that cost in overages?

Your comment raises an interesting point. You mention about being grandfathered onto unlimited plans, but Sprint has no data cap on 4G whatsoever in comparison to every LTE enabled phone on Verizon being capped as they rolled the caps out with the release of the Thunderbolt.

I wonder why they knocked the speed of wimax, its like knocking the speed of a 200mph car because another car can go 350mph… once you pass a certain speed threshold the returns diminish rapidly, unless downloading torrents, which you ought not be doing in the first place. If you are not grandfathered into an unlimited data plan, what fool would choose a phone that was twice as fast as the already fast wimax, but with capped data so you could not actually use as much as needed? The speed complaint is a useless one, literally useless. The only substantive complaint is about building penetration and possibly wimax availability. Battery life is an issue across the board, so turn it off when not browsing, problem solved.

except the hero (which i still am using.. i know, torture) has an extremely slow and outdated processor that limits the usability of the phone. Most apps (games like angry birds, etc.) run extremely laggy, making them unusable. The SGSIIET4G will get updated to ICS sometime, but if not, it’s still an extremely usuable phone and will be for 2 years. I am undecided on whether or not to update to the SGSIIET4G or wait for the nexus prime to come to sprint, which is a pipe dream right now. I do not want to wait past Nov as I can’t stand the hero anymore.

Day late and dollar short. I was ready to grab one of these, but it took too long to come out. Why pick up a handset that is actually several months old, when the next generation should be coming out a couple of months later. It’s the HTC Hero all over again.
