Samsung dips P310 in gold, upgrades it to the P318+

So it looks like the Beijing Olympics are going to have more gadgets made in their honor than any other Olympics before. First, you have Lenovo that created the Olympic Torch, they decided to create a  "Cloud of Promise" line of notebooks. Now Samsung is jumping into the game with a special golden phone.

We don't mean a phone that looks like gold, or something just called "golden." No, this baby has a solid 18-carat gold casing. Personally I think it is pretty ugly, but then again I think gold on most gadgets is pretty ugly.

I'm not really sure why they felt the need to create a series of very expensive golden phones. I get the whole correlation between the phone and the gold medals that are awarded, but is there really a point?
