It seems a rumor is going around today that’s saying Samsung has a new display up their sleeve, made specifically for their 15.6-inch notebooks. These new LCD displays would be very thin while still maintaining color accuracy.
Unidentified sources are saying these new screens will have RGB LED backlighting, making for richer colors within a thinner frame. This would also make the screens less blue and more representative of all the colors in the spectrum.
We don’t know much else than these few tidbits, thought it is likely this screen will have a 16:9 aspect ratio. When these will appear and for how much is too soon to tell, but it is likely they will only be featured in the higher end notebooks as LED-backlit displays tend to be on the pricey side.
