jeezus. I am not an Apple fan, but ha is a stretch. Where is he prior art? I agree a best defense is a strong offense, but ferreting out source code will make Samsung look like it has no strategy to defend itself. Like a kid crying foul, asking for his teacher’s credentials for giving hima failing grade

As far as I understand it they’re litigating with apple in the use of two patents related to 3G communication standards, specifically Wideband Code Division Multiple Access, or WCDMA. But if Samsung where able to use these against Apple they would be able to litigate against other manufactures which really wouldn’t be good for anyone plus these patents are already ruled by a judge that Samsung’s 3G patents are open to license under the definition of fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory, or FRAND.

This is like asking for someone to show that they are doing something some!
I agree with TheHammerMan, samsung can’t just ask for something, they need to find the evidence themselves.If apple gives that out, it’ll be a company secret and it will hurt the business because the source code is everything that makes the iOS! Samsung can’t just ask a company to give out their secret. Apple can also in turn ask samsung to show them all they have!

Samsung it’s about getting your lazy piece of shit ass up and go do your own research and provide evidences if you want to accuse someone!

Calm down. There is a huge difference between police ransacking a house and a company requesting information, just as there is a huge difference between Australian and American law.

This is a civil matter. Nobody is alleging the violation of some right. They are trying to initiate what’s called a fishing expedition, just like Apple did to them. Send us your stuff so we can look for problems. I don’t know how they do it in Australia but here in the US Courts are not supposed to allow it.

they should if it makes sense, business wise. these guys are not fighting for anything moral, just business. even android is business, and a good one. all money money money.

i have three of them by the way, two htcs and one motorola. i didn’t buy it because of what most users say e.g. freedom. i bought three because i like android. period.

By the way, I am not defending apple you idiot. Just because someone says Samsung is desperate doesn’t mean he’s rooting for the other side. It’s just a plain comment because in my opinion it is absurd.

This seems so desperate on Samsung’s part, but at the same time, it seemed equally desperate on Apple’s part when they went after everyone and their brother as soon as Android… the OS that steve jobs basically once made fun of as something that would just fail, started growing to iOS numbers. I enjoy every minute of it for some reason. The entire thing is such a waste of time, money and energy for both companies.

i think this is a bit desperate. samsung should have some compelling evidence to be able to do a search.

imagine the police searching your house for something illegal without any idea of what to search, or even investigating what specifically you’re guilty of. “hey chris davies, we’ll search your house. you might be guilty of something. we don’t know what, but of something.” the ketword is “hunt”. witch hunt? ghost hunt?this is also a subtle way of implying that apple stole something from them without anything specifically in mind.
