WOW - a pen interface on a tablet (like a Wacom pad) is EXACTLY what I dreamed of for the new iPad - I want that interface instead of the horribly inaccurate one on the iPad. I'd buy it right now...except, apparently, I can't. "Q2 2012" or somewhere thereabouts. Really?

Oh well...would have been nice. Guess it's one more year with the iStuff.

Hi. From your chart the Galaxy Note 10.1 looks great and I am currently a Galaxy Note user and lovely it, I find the iPad 3 hard to resist because of the display resolution and price.
I am an Apple hater getting ride of all my Apple products lately, I still have to go back to Apple because of viewing photos on higher resolution.
I even Pre-order my iPad today after the launch. I wamt the Galazy Note 10.1 badly but Samsung just refuse to put the launch date and could not up the screen resolution including prices for customers to decide. Very bad marketing Samaung.

It's not a "review"... it's clearly a presentation FROM SAMSUNG as noted in the title.

Facts are facts, and they are presented. Fact is, the "Retina" display is no better in PPI than my ancient OG Droid phone. Sure, it's higher res, but that's all. Nothing really new here.

The A5X is just a new GPU. Fact is, Apple can "claim" all they want for performance, but they likely have no proof of it. The fact is, AMD (ATI) and NVidia are the true GPU makers today... from a performance aspect, there is nothing faster. Apple doesn't MAKE GPUs, they buy them - at best they might have a good GPU from someone else, but I find it VERY hard to believe it's "4X" faster than these powerhouses can do. Of course, there is the matter of power consumption, but even still, I find it hard to believe... and so does NVidia. We'll see what REALLY pans out with REAL independent benchmarks... which will happen soon.

In the end, it's clear that these are the only two "features" to sell on it... and they are nothing amazing, really. They are simply incremental improvements that everyone is working on already.

I'm not saying it's a bad device... if you want it, knock yourself out. But don't tell me that it's innovative in any way. It's not.

Ha! Typical fanboyic brainwashed iDiot Apple consumer you are!

This is what happens when brand loyalty creeps in your very nervous system and takes over your very self. How could Apple's earnings automatically translate to your own self satisfaction? Are you a share holder? If one tech company can offer me the best deal by WAITING a few days to show better cards then I, the nerdy geek I am, WIN.Unlike you I am not bound by BRAND LOYALTY. I go for the BEST USE. I go for LOGIC and PRACTICALITY.I go for the technology that makes the BEST technology for my personal needs and objective: be it Apple, Samsung, Asus, Sony, Toshiba, LG, Leneovo, HTC, etc. What matters is the best my hard earned money can buy that is actually useful to make my life easier. Yes I am a geek nerd, but Apple's nor Samsung's nor any brand names will not "Elevate My Self Worth or Self Esteem in Society" for bragging rights. This is the very bandwagon these companies wants iDiot fanboys to ride on. Same with Android fanboys. These technologies are nothing compared to the more advanced technologies this world has concealed from us. Take your fight over there.

Remember the strategy Samsung pulled off with the Samsung Galaxy S2 before the iPhone 4S?

I would take the next Asus Prime with it's super high resolution screen over either of these two. The resolution is so close to the new ipad that you wouldn't be able to see a difference. HDMI and SD card support are a plus as well. Better cameras front and back, thinner and lighter and ofcourse the ability to match the web browsing experience i get on my desktop with flash support. I don't buy into the app argument, it's well known that the vast majority of high quality apps are on both platforms now, thats an old argument that belongs in the past where it once had more relevance.
The Samsung is a nice tab but it would be better suited to my artistic wife, she would love playing with that thing. If it's out by august then i have found the wifes birthday gift.

Samsung seems to be comparing only the great points that will target one specific client groups (Stylus and Artists), but what about the quality of Apps in the Android Eco System?

There are so many iPad compatible apps out there that are so well designed and implemented well that have a consistent quality to them. Whereas, in the Android Market most of all the apps are configured just for phone use.

Nobody wants a tablet to draw and sketch all the time, but they need something that is functional and yet expandable thru hardware or software.

THANK GOD THEY CAME OUT WITH THIS PRODUCT! As a student, taking notes on electronic handouts from professors, without having to print them, is a major help in saving time and money. As for gaming, when I'm outside I like to keep head free of time consuming distractions like that. When I have time to game, I would use my PC with far more powerful graphics than any pad can offer for an incomparably more immersing FPS experience. BF3 is my favorite title, and there is no way you can play something like it on a pad anyway.

Well, what Apple claims. I don't know what blog I read it on, but there is some "question" about how accurate that GPU is. Because Apparently the GPU in the Tegra 3 CPU is on par (if not completely destroys) the GPU in the iPad 2, which Apple claimed was better than what was in the Tegra 3.

That being said, I don't remember if this is using an Exynos CPU or not. If it is, it could have far better graphics than the Tegra 3.

SUPER AMOLED PLUS. This is what we will see in Samsung next tablets. It is "argued" that this is a better display than the retina display in the iPhones.

Personally, I believe Samsung is "killing time" until their Next generation Exynos CPU's are ready.

Toss those with a Super AMOLED PLUS display, you could have a tablet that easily outseats the iPad.

Samsung's 7.7 inch tablet has a Super AMOLED Plus display. Depending who you talk to, that is better than than "rentia" display.

granted, that is on a small tablet, but I won't be surprised if that came to the larger tablets shortly.
And to a Samsung Windows tablet.

I would say, wait and pick up a Windows 8 tablet. I won't be surprised if Adobe or someone will make "professional grade" drawing software for windows 8 tablets.

I guess it just depends on whether or not a stylus is at all attractive. For me, I've been wanting an artist quality stylus that draws directly on a tablet for ages. If you use a Wacom tablet as a graphic or fine artist, you'll understand. Frankly, with so many artists loving Mac computers for so long, it's surprising and disappointing that Apple has failed to supply a true Wacom caliber stylus capability on iPads.

Certainly the big draw on the new iPad is the screen - I have a feeling that it may be the most beautiful computer screen ever built. If it had a good stylus I would have one in an instant.

As it is, I really want a stylus and am willing to wait, maybe for the Note 10.1, or even for a good Win 8 tablet (Win 7 tablets have very good stylus capability already but suck as tablets.)

The iPad will sadly thrash it in the GPU department. I'd like to see what benchmark was 4x or whatever faster than the Tegra 3. Anyway, we all know the Krait is very likely to beat the iPad 3 in the CPU dept.

If the rumor about the "feel" using the Senseg haptic tech was true, THAT would have been groundbreaking. Maybe that is defined by the app where it knows what area "hotspots" are there and what haptic feedback to provide based on that.

To me, the display is the main standout. The perf, that I'd have to see compared to the Asus 700t to see how much of a difference it makes.

If Samsung uses a really good AMOLED panel with their 10.1 Tablet and ups the ppi, it could be a compelling device. Sure the apps have yet to come. But we are talking about the device.
