Google? for what? giving away a free OS? Google does a great job with their Nexus phones save for that dumbass move giving Verizon an exclusive on the GNEX and screwing up the release as a result. I hope they learned from that one.

To each his own. I love my Nexus S and i’ll love it even more with ICS on it. Most every kind of touchwiz like function i’ll ever need/want can be added later from the app market with widgets and launchers. I really do like the GS2 though, once they get ICS on that phone it will most likely be my favorite, next to the GNEX that is ;)

But the Nexus hardware sucks. The Galaxy S has better hardware than the Nexus S, and the GS2 has better hardware than the Galaxy Nexus. I actually like some of Samsung’s modifications to the software, I use the controls in the notification bar on a daily basis to toggle wi-fi, Bluetooth, and GPS and the music controls as well. I’m going to get a GS2 because I know better than to buy a Galaxy S so late that my contract won’t be up by the time the next model comes out, people need to learn that you never buy a smartphone that’s been out for more than a month.

Perhaps people are upset that they’ll have to root or upgrade their phone before their contract is even up to get the lastest software. Meanwhile in California a company is still updating a phone that was released almost 3 years ago now.

No matter what Samsung does here it will look bad. Take away features for ICS= bitching, keep touchwiz and add only a few ICS features=bitching. I can’t see Samsung taking out touchwiz so they can fit a full version of ICS, if they did that they would be telling their customers what i’ve been telling them, you should have bought the Nexus.

Why do i choose Android devices? So i can “Root”, flash a custom ROM and hey presto, i have ICS on my Galaxy Tab. Perhaps its about time people stop demanding they keep upgrading the OS on OLD DEVICES! Do you hear Microsoft giving you Windows 7 free from Windows Vista? NO…. Furthermore, a fundamental reason they dont, is because you’re old hardware cant support the new OS and offer the seamless, optimized experience thats best suited to you’re device.

Galaxy S1 is already 18 months old phone.
It was released at 2010. 6.
There is no other company upgrade their year 2010 device for android 4.0(ICS) update.
Samsung is only company who support year 2010 device upgrade.

HTC, Sony Ericsson, Moto and All other Android manufactures are same.
There is no upgarde for year 2010 models.

But, then why do not they update SGS Plus i9001 to ICS? That phone has same specs as “SE Xperia Arc S” which is getting ICS treatment.
They cannot say that i9001 cannot run ICS because of “hardware limitations”. And that phone is still on sale in many telekom operators shops.
Even LG announced ICS for Optimus Black which is weaker than i9001. I want to know why Samsung refuse to update i9001???

People who recommend XDA and Rootzwiki forget that custom ROMs like CyanogenMod and Awesome Sauce save a lot of room by not including the manufacturers Bloatware. The same thing happened to the HTC Desire, it wasn’t going to get Gingerbread because there wouldn’t be space on that phone for HTC Sense then it got the update with fewer Sense Features. I’m happy with Gingerbread on my Galaxy S Mesmerize, and when I want an OS update I’ll just get a Galaxy S II (when it comes to my carrier). Samsung could easily get ICS on the Galaxy S if they left out their Bloatware, but they’d rather give us MORE Bloatware over Gingerbread, doesn’t make sense to me, but whatever.
