Uh, or they were more interested in selling iPad/Macbook Pro/Air (which makes up 80% of tablet market, and around 20% of the laptop market) components and bringing in millions of dollars supplying cheaper hardware which it could then use to support R&D and developing its own lines. Samsung is a huge, efficiently run business, you don't think they sat down and said, hmmm, we make 500 million a year selling components to Apple for their products, the bans in Germany/Australia will create a net loss of oh, 50 million in sales, we should keep selling Apple hardware? (Numbers exaggerated, but they clearly make more selling cheap parts than they do selling galaxy tabs... which is why many high end manufacturers use samsung hardware). Asian companies aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, they just also aren't idiots, and jeopardizing a huge profit, which in the end will only help them build out their own line, is just stupid...
