Samsung TVs have been running Linux for some time now, from what i have read. They just make it more overt via the module system. Any digital appliance is a PC with a specialized interface on top. If one could get to get guts of it, one could likely boot just about anything on them.

Samsung demonstrated the voice/gesture and face recognition capability of the television.
