Meh, the device is great, the review seems to miss the point. It lists the SageTV Media Center software as an 'optional' component, when in fact, that is the key feature that makes this device shine. Without that, there are plenty of simple media streamers that will get your stored/online content to your TV. There are NO other ways to bring all your media, from recorded, to ripped, to imported, to online content, to every TV in your home. Capable of either full 1080p/HD Audio bit-streaming to your HDMI 1.3 receiver for the home theater, or scaling/down-mixing to composite/stereo for the old bedroom CRT. For SageTV starters, you can even get a bundle of the HD300, plus SageTV Media Center, for $199.95. A bargain that can truly revolutionize the way you watch tv/movies/videos.
