Makes sense they’d choose Asus. They need to spread their Android love amongst all the manufacturers to be fair to them and reward their commitment. Motorola will probably be last to get that privilege.

I hope this will not be such a dumbed-down tablet like the Kindle Fire.

A 7″, quad-core IPS tablet with a proper set of ports/slots + 1GB RAM should be a winner for $200.

If ASUS builds it, than it will not be 10″ since that would compete with the Transformer Prime.

Agree 100%. I think Google has the ability to completely steal the market (not whole market, Apple has death-grip, but at least Android based) here by staying 100% neutral. No UI skins, no contracts, no partnerships, good hardware, portable 7″ factor, access to B&N and Kindle, access to Google Play. It will truly be an affordable, do-all tablet

Hopefully Google will make a 7″ tablet that can be sold via the Google store and contains a SIM card slot so that you can take it onto any network if you choose. Basically a true “nexus” tablet
