It’s taken me a little while to warm up to the PSP, but thanks to the folks at Square Enix and a copy of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, I’ve barely put it down lately. I’ve never really had anything against Sony’s handheld, it’s just that I’ve been plenty entertained by my DS. Well rumors are now circulating that there may be another PSP model in production. No, I’m not talking about a new color, but a whole new model 3000.

From what rumors suggest, the changes will be mostly cosmetic, with the ‘Home’ button changed to the PlayStation logo and the metallic ring on the UMD door appears to be slimmed down. One major hardware change would be in the form of a mic, which is located just to the right of the volume up button. This of course adds fuel to the rumors of cell phone support.

Honestly, there’s nothing here that would make me excited to purchase a new PSP. Now if there was a built-in hard drive, then we might be in business.
