I really do feel bad for PS3 users. They’ve been getting a little more love over the last year or so with lower prices and a larger library of games. However, they still have no in-game XMB. Rumors are once again floating around that this long-desired feature will soon be making its way onto consoles everywhere.

According to rumor, the PS3 will be reciving a new firmware update of v2.40 sometime in June, which will in fact include in-game XMB.  Features like a universal friends list and in-game messaging will supposedly all be there.

We’ve heard plenty of rumors before, but this one claims to be totally real and 100% legit, so I feel confident in saying that I’ll believe it when I see it.
