Now, we have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but there’s a rumor going around that Google is seriously considering buying Twitter. The sources are unnamed (of course) but their information seems pretty logical.
The power of Twitter as a search engine could be huge, according to TechCrunch, so talks with Google would make sense. However, another source recently said that Google and Twitter were merely talking about collaborating on a real-time search engine–not a buyout.
And then, as if that weren’t enough voices to throw into the mix, Twitter co-founder, Biz Stone, took to his blog to say that people shouldn’t be surprised by Twitter talking to other companies about stuff. Kind of a generic response, but he didn’t deny anything, either. Should be interesting to see where this rumor goes.
