It will most likely be a retina display... well over 1080p(huge selling point)... it will be using a A6.. or A7? chip... It will have no content providers except iTunes Store as a subscription and it will stream directly from iTunes in the same way that Amazon Prime and Netflix do... except... it will also allow people to purchase that same show on the cloud from the TV elegantly so when they go to iTunes on their computer and sync their iPod and iPhone, it will then transfer the content to their device(that way they get the subscription fee monthly AND they make some sales in the process). It will have siri, it will have apps... and if it is an A7 chip it will have very very elegant games. That will trump the competitors. You heard it here first. :)

I betcha a million dollars they're going to do these things:
1) 21.5" model, starts at $2000
2) Integrate Facebook into the thing. Farmville on a TV? TAKEALLMYMONEY
3) It will have 480p. Next generation, they'll stick a "[S]" on it and make it 720p "Retina" resolution.
4) Sue every TV manufacturer into oblivion and ban their sales everywhere because they apparently "stole" the Apple blueprints for making TVs rectangular or something.

I doubted the 2012 apocalypse, but holy crap are things just comin' together.

In a way i'm quite surprised that iOS has failed so far in apple tv and has been a boom for the iphone.

I say surpising because the interface being limited as it is, (seems bloggers like limited) anyhoo that would be more suitable for tvs than phones.

Hell i don't want a static icon with a number count as a main display but this limited functionality would be great for TVs

I'm excited to see what Apple puts out, but I SWEAR TO GOD, if all they do is let you talk to your television I am writing off their ability to innovate...

I still don't understand why Apple is planning to do this. I think Microsoft is going the correct route with the Kinect, provide a peripheral for existing TVs to add functionality and/or license that technology to be embedded in devices. Now I can buy any TV I want and have all the same functionality. I have a feeling Apple is just banking on the iSheep with their iPad, iPhone, iPod, Macbook Pro, etc. to buy their iTV.

Unless it does something really cool, then I'll pick it up, as long as the cool thing it does is worth the additional cost its likely to have.
