Yesterday I spoke of the many guises of the Nintendo DS. While it has more versions out that the Xbox 360 and PS3 combined, there are rumors floating around that Sony is already considering dropping the 80GB version of their console. In fact, if rumors are to be believed, we should see two brand new SKUs in the near future.

Sony Mole

If the source is to be believed, we should look forward to 120GB and 160GB models to hit shelves in the not-so-distant future. What’s more is that the new offerings won’t just get bigger hard drives, but they’ll also come standard with Dual Shock 3 controllers. It’s about damn time.

There’s no indication as to how soon we should see the 80GB model phased out, only that it will happen soon. The best part of the news is that they’re planning on keeping the consoles at the same price point that we’re seeing now.
