Roku Unveils New Netflix Channel Design and Adds Plenty of Features [Video]

Looks like the time for much needed upgrades is upon us, because Roku has just let us know that their Netflix Channel will be getting a major face lift here soon. If you're a current owner of a Roku box, or you've been thinking about buying one, then be happy in knowing that the streaming movie service is getting the love and attention it deserves, especially when a search function is being included. We love searching for what we want. It just makes it all so much easier.

As you can see from the video, the User Interface has taken quite a big improvement from its previous iterations. First and foremost, if you've seen the UI before, then you'll notice that the "press left to see all other movies" is gone, giving your screen some more real estate, and allows for Netflix to show you more digital entertainment. And, while searching is all well and good, we're leaning more towards the fact you can alter your Instant queue right from the Roku box as being the single best feature of the upcoming upgrade.

What's new and different from what you may have seen out on the market w/ other devices?

1. Search the entire Netflix Instant Streaming Library from your TV screen

2. Browse and Play Movies and TV shows on your TV via our new immersive user interface

3. Add Movies and TV shows to your Instant Queue for watching later

Better late than never, as the old saying goes. Looks like Roku and Netflix are definitely good bed fellows now, and we'e glad to hear that the update is going to hit Roku boxes in June. The update itself is going to be free of charge, and it's going to hit your box through an automatic software update. As soon as you get it, let us know, and be sure to tell us what you think of the new layout and features.
