Back when the original Rock Band was announced for the Wii, there were many people upset by its limited features, and rightfully so. Essentially the Wii version was the same as the PS2, which meant you could get the same experience on a console that was 8 years old. Well fear not rock fans, this time around, the Wii is getting the full treatment.

Harmonix has confirmed that the Wii version of the game will be full-featured like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Yes, this also means online play and downloadable content.
This of course raises the question of how Harmonix has managed to overcome the storage limitation for the Wii. Are we simply going to have to delete songs as we want new ones, or is there finally going to be some sort of storage alternative?

i believe that the songs you download on rock band 2 will have the option to save them to an sd card. a 2gb card is about $20, and that can hold a lot of songs.

I can’t wait for rockband to come out for the Wii. Do you guys think it will be cheaper or will cost the same as the first one?

I reserved a copy of the RB2 bundle (complete accessories) at the local game store and it will cost me roughly $200 with tax. If Harmonix is being truthfull about RB2 having ALL the features that PS3 and Xbox 360 has, then it would make sense why Microsoft opted to release their versions earlier. Not only because they have an exclusive contract with Harmonix over the RB2 brand for an early release, but I’m thinking when the consumers place the two versions side-by-side, 360 v. Wii, Wii will garner more accolades, IMHO.

I agree with homina-homina!
They probbably will let u download the songs into an SD Card… but… the fact that users will upload the DLC Song Files into file sharing sites will likely happen due to helping other ppl get the DLC Songs without paying which I would do but wouldn’t be fair, although I can’t wait for DLC for Wii + 20 free DLC Song for the Wii Ver. of RB2 and probbably have to store it in a SD Card so im gonna have to get one + a Wii Point’s Card, since If I choose to put my SD Card in my computer… those song files that could be illegally uploaded into sharing sites might have viruses (probbably) and also i screwed up my computer so I’m gonna have to get a Wii Point’s card.
