'Rise of the Tomb Raider' DLC brings zombies on March 29

Next week, Xbox owners with Rise of the Tomb Raider will get access to the game's next DLC "Cold Darkness Awakened." First came "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" and Endurance Mode; this time around, gamers are getting a hoard of zombie Trinity soldiers to battle against, and they're tasked with shutting down the decommissioned base from which the zombies are raised.Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as an Xbox One exclusive last year, much to the dismay of fans; it has only recently become available to PC gamers, and won't be available on the PlayStation 4 until the end of this year. All the while, Xbox One owners have already seen a pair of DLCs arrive, and now on March 29 they'll get access to the third.

In the game, Lara Croft is faced with Trinity, a ruthless organization that ultimately lands her in Siberia, where she must face the elements as well as human enemies. That challenge has neared full-circle, with "Cold Darkness Awakened" bringing walking-dead Trinity soldiers described as "bloodthirsty killers who thrive on carnage."

The affliction's cause is coming from a decommissioned Cold War researcher base, and it is making its way into the frozen tundra around the base. Lara Croft must put an end to that affliction and the base while vanquishing the zombies and not succumbing to their illness herself. The game is available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and on PC. The DLC will cost $9.99 USD.
