This has tobe the worst write up I have ever read. What? produce a netbook rather than a tablet? you have obviously no idea what you are talkin about. I wonder how much they pay you to write such garbage articles. I have the playbook, and i have my iphone, truth is that I never wanted to get an ipad considerin that it is just an oversized ipod touch. the browser is nothin ad the appstore is full of junk apps. RIM is the answer to my tablet need and qnx is a mature and developed software. their no button approach is fantastic and their seven inch form factor. yes they might be havin some problems now, but tellin them to give in or that they failed with their playbook is a big mistake. The playbook is just a steppin stone to the future of brand new qnx mobile devices. cant wait to dump my iphone

No argument there. I hope RIM cleans up and devs give the platform a chance. It doesn't matter how awesome the software is, if there is no support from the development community, you might as well call it WebOS.

we already saw how great RIM making people buy blackberries to use their playbooks worked with the calendar and email debacle. RIM needs to stop living in the past if they want to have a future.

Their loss is my gain. For all of the Playbook's flaws it still has one of the best browsers on any mobile device, and you can pick up a 64GB one for 300.

Not quite the same kind of fire sale prices as the TouchPad, but I figured I'd try it out. Ordered one last night and hopefully it'll be here by the end of the week.

QNX has great potential, especially for mobile devices. but you have to admit that RIM has done nothing but screw up the last year, from putting out dated phones that no one wants anymore, to putting out a half baked tablet with next to no app environment, even if the tablet has good potential. I'm hoping RIM clean up their act this year, finish blackberry 10, and make some great devices. but they need to learn from their mistakes badly.

Is it a coincidence that the Playbook running QNX and WebOS are so similar? I mean to say, it is something truly worth appreciating if only people took the time to use it. The Playbook is fantastic. Best purchase I've made in a long time. You can literally do anything with a capable web browser. The lack of apps doesn't bother me in the slightest. The Playbook does everything I need right now. I'll be looking forward to the new 2.0 software, so much in fact that I'm going to ditch my Android for a Bold 9930 to bridge with my Playbook. People call me crazy, but I know I'm not. The only reason I ditched my old 9650 was because the browser was terrible. Not so with the 9930. Dying or not, I'm going back to RIM.

I don't know what the future holds for RIM's tablet computing, but so far I like what they're doing. It is the only company that is truly integrating phone with tablet in a unique and special way. WebOS was on the right track with its Touchpad and Pre3 pairing. Blackberry seems to be picking up where WebOS left off and I for one welcome that with open arms.
