Then you must have hated Google when they came out with Android Honeycomb and didn't offer that to any Smart Phone but only Tablets?

It wasn't until Android 4 that they finally offered a version that was applicable to both! While like Gingerbread, you'll still see some updates for BB7 for your Bold. They're already up to 7.1 for example and RIM is not going to just drop all their old phones overnight.

Or Apple as one by one they start dropping support of the old model iPhones because they can't properly run the newer versions of iOS.

So sure, be upset if that really bothers you but at least make sure you're consistent!

While let's not pretend the whole phone industry isn't set up to make us all get new phones every two years on average. While offering new models every single year...

Nonsense, even with Android support is still limited for older phones and not everyone is getting the 4.0 update. While a lot of what BB10 brings will be best applied to newer phones that actually take advantage of it.

Remember, RIM's older BB's mostly don't have touch screens and even those that do they also have low performing hardware that will only hamper BB10's performance.

If anything RIM really needs to WOW us with this release to overcome all their previous negative press if they are to stand a chance. While also the point is for people to start buying their phones again and not hold on to the old ones.

Besides, the older phones will still get other updates, just not the BB10.
