For the $180/year I pay to Rhapsody, I’m listening to everything you’ve bought and thousands of songs more. Well, except for McCartney’s music, but he apparently doesn’t want my money.

I agree…actually had most of his early solo stuff on vinyl and enjoyed reconnecting via Rhap…but but go out and buy Ram? Be serious…

So poor Paul isn’t making enough money from these services? Really? The guy has the net worth of a small country. And he needs more $$?

You’d think at this point in his life/ career, he’d be less concerned about getting more money and more concerned about spreading his music. Isn’t that a LITTLE bit of what it’s about- getting people to listen in the first place? Being a part of these services allows him to reach a broader audience, and allows people who are younger to appreciate it as well. Why not do whatever you can to make sure that his and The Beatles’ legacy lasts forever (ok, it probably will anyways)?

I don’t get his logic…

To clarify – Rhapsody now has 100% of the Coldplay and Adele catalogs. Adele’s 21 is not available for free streaming on Spotify, and Coldplay initially withheld release of its most recent record, Mylo Xyloto on streaming services.

He is the biggest musical star/legend on the planet…Always will be and has been for almost 50 years…Can do whatever he wants with his stuff. Rhapsody and Spotify are business ventures — they’re not nonprofits interested in the public good. It’s amazing how people put blinders on about corporate greed when it’s a business they like.

Well if its making him diddly squat, then he has the right to remove it. It’s his music after all. Just because there a million streaming sites available doesn’t mean you have to be on all of them. If he feels/has been advised that it is a better business decision to remove it, then he is allowed to do so, the same way some obscure unknown random band has the right to do so also.

Well, never did bother listening to him, so not a lost to me.

But I will say, I spend HUNDREDS of dollars (about $500, if not more) on music EACH YEAR. And a lot of this music, I have found (and heard) them using Youtube, rhapsody, spotify, pandora, and such. I buy a lot of music from a lot of artists I “accidentally” discovered. if you are pulling from these free (or subscription) services, it’s your loss, not mine.

I’m a Rhapsody subscriber. I feel like this is Paul’s loss and not mine. I like his tunes enough to listen to them under my subscription plan but not enough to buy them. I won’t miss them.
