There is nothing here to say they have arrived at the SS# algorithmically.
Though with the vague reference to ‘other projects’, who knows?
Anyway – it seems like what they did is demonstrate a bit of data-mining.

(How vague is that?)  You also had to have a publicly viewable facebook profile that shares personal, identifying information with the general public.

For anyone privacy-conscious, this should not be a worry.
