“On the up … are Samsung and Apple”, even though according to the chart above iOS actually declined in market share over the year. Whereas Microsoft’s has increased more than anyone else in terms of percentage gain. Granted, it’s starting from a small base.

It will be quite interesting to see what happens when BB10 comes out in a couple of months. It would be great to see four strong players in the market – more competition and better for consumers.

These 2 charts are both supposed to be Worldwide Mobile Device Sales to End Users in Q3 2012. However, the numbers aren’t consistent at all. The total sales are way different. Also, Nokia is supposed to have 19% market share in the first chart, but if you add it up by operating system (Microsoft, Symbian, and Other (S40, etc.)) you only get 5.4%. Nokia doesn’t make Android phones to my knowledge so there’s something either wrong or misrepresented about these 2 charts.
