Red Octane acknowledges whammy bar issue

Last week I reported my distaste for the new X-plorer controller for Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II. My biggest complaint was one shared by many: the whammy bar was very unresponsive. Looks like someone from Red Octane was listening.

As of now, their official response to the matter is that they know it is a problem, and that if you have a defective unit, to exchange it for a new controller at the retailer where you purchased it. The interesting thing is that they list the two model numbers that are affected, and advise you to exchange your's for a different model number. The only problem is I've not seen or heard of any models other than the two listed, which are 95065, and 95055. If you see any new model numbers, I'd be interested to hear about it.

I haven't decided if I'm going to bother taking mine back. The store that I picked mine up at has been out of stock since the day after launch, so I don't really think it's worth it. Chances are, I'll get another defective unit anyway. Maybe I'll just have to make a project out of it, I'm not too fond of the rest of the guitar anyway.
