Razer Kraken Forged Edition gaming headphones get machined aluminum ear cups

Gaming peripheral maker Razer has announced a new version of its high-end Kraken gaming headset. The new version of the headset shares much of the same style and features as the original with the addition of a new material for the earphone cups. The new headphones are called the Razer Kraken Forged Edition.

The big difference between the Kraken Forged Edition and the original Kraken Pro headphones is that the Forged edition has machined aluminum ear cups. Those ear cups are forged out of aircraft grade aluminum with a matte texture.

Razer says that each set of the headphones is hand assembled for optimum quality. The Kraken Forged Edition headphones use 40 mm drivers promising deep bass and balanced overall sound. The drivers feature neodymium magnets for clear highs and mid range sounds along with the deep bass. The ear cups are padded with leatherette ear cushions and a fully adjustable headband offering comfort for long term wear.

The headset also includes a swappable cable with one featuring an in-line microphone for making calls on a smartphone and the other having no mic for music listening. The headphones also ship with a larger adapter allowing them to connect to home stereo components. the Kraken Forged Edition headphones are available now online for $299.99.
