All this talk about legal and illegal content is nonsense.
I have never downloaded anything from rapidshare that was LEGAL.
What kind of content could they have on their servers which is not copyright
of someone?

Nice shot! LoL!
This will force the users (uploaders of privat files as well as pornvideo adicts too)to encrypt there files.
A thing security watchers recommended while loading files in to public stores ever.
Ha ha.

It looks like the old "wild west" days of unsupervised file transfer on the internet we have enjoyed for over a decade is finally being politically and legally restricted by the powers that be. What a pity, but it was too good to last forever...
Someday we will longingly look back on these early internet years as a golden age of sharing and discovery which was a joyous experience for the average citizen. It will become especially apparent when the internet finally becomes as restricted and stagnant as, for example, the governments in North Korea or Iran. The internet grew so fast that no one could entirely forsee the possibilities and sweeping changes it would produce in the world as we know it.
But now it will probably end up as one big boring facebook page of limited permitted activity which is constantly under hidden surveillance...sigh.
