RAmos V80 featuring Windows CE6.0 and WindTouch

So RAmos has a new MP3 player, the hardware is nice, but nothing too special, it has a 2.8" touchscreen, a microSD slot, 2GB of built in memory, a built in speaker, and a 1.3MP camera. Formats aren't anything special either with support for MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AC3, AVI, ASF, MPG, 3GP, MP4, FLV, JPG, BMP, GIF, and TXT. What is special though is the software.

It has WindowsCE 6.0 with WindTouch. A simple explanation of what WindTouch is would be to say its very similar to what the iPhone or iPod Touch OS would be like if it wasn't multi-touch capable. Sure there is a button/joystick thing on the bottom of the device for navigation if you need it, but the entire interface is touch-based.

For pictures, on the iPod Touch, you pinch to zoom out or do the opposite to zoom in, on the WindTouch interface you move your finger up to zoom in, or down to zoom out and left or right to change pictures. Then at the bottom there is a menu where you can select pan and move anywhere in the photo, its kind of ingenious. But basically its Microsoft cashing in on the iPod Touch interface in markets where an iPod Touch is far too expensive, such as China.

Thanks for the tip Carl! [you can buy one or see more specs at MP4Nation]
