Well this is definitely not cool! According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Rage Wireless Guitars for the Wii are not safe for consumers! 57,000 of the guitars have now been recalled and there’s no word if this product will make it back to the market.

The guitar, made as an accessory for the Wii version of Guitar Hero, has a defect in its circuit board. So, if the batteries are installed improperly, battery acid caustic alkaline chemicals can actually leak out. This is, of course, bad and could cause burns to the flesh.
What’s up with all the recalls lately? I mean, you would think we’d have mastered the whole plastic toy with simple electronics inside thing by now. But a battery leak? That’s just ridiculous. I know rock is supposed to be hardcore, but burns? Not so rockin’ if you ask me.

One Response to “Rage Wireless Guitar recalled; battery leak to blame”

Are you stupid? This takes AAs. ALKALINE batteries. Like, the OPPOSITE of acid.
Aren’t you supposed to show some degree of journalism and verify that what you’re copying from some other website makes sense? Battery acid only exists in car batteries and the like.
There’s nothing in the original government recall notice about any acids. If AAs burst, there are only caustic alkaline chemicals inside. Nasty, but not acids.
