If you’ve always wanted your own R2-D2 complete with with the ability to project holographic images, this is the closest that you’re going to get.  It is a half-scale R2-D2 that will project a DVD movie onto a screen for you.

The little guy includes a slot-loading DVD drive, external connectors for an iPod and surround sound speakers. The projector will have a contrast ratio of 1,800:1, 1,500 lumen brightness and a max resolution of 1024 x 768.

Only 1000 of these will be made, so you’ll have to be quick to get one when they debut this fall. You might want to have some cash saved up as well, as one will cost you $3,160. Honestly, I think it’s a bit much, for that I would hope to have a full scale replica.
