Funny. I think he’s drinking their own Kool-Aid and this is wishful thinking. Intel already knows how much they need to sell their chips for to be competitive and they’re still going full-speed ahead. They must know something about their technology and costs that Qualcomm doesn’t get yet.

Intel has over 40 years of experience marching along following Moore’s Law. They understand better than anybody what that means. Technology-wise, they never think about today, they’re always firmly focused on a target in the future.

Watch out Qualcomm, the 22nm & 14nm steamroller is coming and quad-core isn’t going to hold it off.

You know, Qualcom usually is tight lipped. They must be worried if they are in the press saying that they aren’t worried. It kinda reminds me of Newt Gingrich who consistently polls in the single digits claiming he’ll be the next president.

I’ve read this story many times. Last year the article used to read “Intel will never have a processor in a smartphone.” Well, now they do. :)

Mock Intel at your own peril Qualcomm.

Intel Medfield may beat Qualcomm Krait at Sunspider. Medfield will likely be the highest performance single threaded processor in the mobile market when it comes out. It’s single threaded perf/watt may be the best on the market.

It won’t have a great GPU, but single threaded CPU performance, which will benefit the vast majority of software, on Medfield looks to be awesome compared to ARM.
