Well, I don't want to sound too negative, but this mock-up is clearly the work of someone who has good technical skills when it comes to computer generated graphics, but little knowhow when it comes to ergonomics and usability, i.e. two key design factors which can make or break products. Okay, I lied. I'm not so bothered if I sound too negative, I just feel this needs to be said. This concept is fundamentally flawed. What's the point of having two analogue sticks when the outer space surrounding them is not near big enough to allow the full rotation of the thumbsticks themselves? That is bad design and downright amateur. I know it's a mock-up, but there's little substance here. It's all fine and dandy to create fancy conceptual pictures, but I find no point in them if the designers have no regard for real world considerations. Furthermore, looking at the pictures it is clear to see that the designer was inspired by the failiure of a product that is the Sony PSP Go. Do you know how uncomfortable that device is to use? The strain it puts on the fingers over over periods of time when constantly having to overarch to reach the 'shoulder' buttons? I don't blame people for complaining about the Go on the internet. They spent their hard-earned cash on it. This approach is comparable to designing the coolest looking car, but having 'forgotten' or not deeming relevant a reasonably sized driver space. It looks great, one of the most beautifully designed cars ever made, but there's one drawback, no one can ever drive it. Too late, it's already gone into production. I find it hillarious how Sony could have had allowed the Go to be produced. Heads would roll if I was in charge.

I seriously doubt it's going to look anything like this after the epic fail that the Go has become. Sony knows they need something big if they want to stay somewhat relavent in the handheld market. The 3DS is going to set all kinds of records when it comes out, even if it does cause everyone to go blind.
