WRONG. PS3 is full of little kids. Since switching to 360, there is more voice chat, and more stiff competition… from mostly teenagers and adults. Also, are extended Betas and one month of free access to the PSN+ (Xbox does this already…) really worth $ony losing all of your info to some shadowy hacker? Have fun.

WTF? Dude, I traded my P$3 for a Xbox, so I feel your pain, but you are headed down the wrong path. You have to prove that the person who stole your identity (probably because you use windows) got your info from the P$N leak for $ony to be held accountable. Also, if you went the class-action route, you will probably get around 53 cents. Have fun wasting money on a Lawyer!

i’m not a fanboy. back before this gen, i had both ps2 and original xbox (which was given to me from a friend who no longer used it). i just prefer my ps3 and no other at the moment. i bought a ps3 and have loved it since…tried my friends 360 (exclusives mainly) and i actually love ps3 exclusives more. and i’m not gonna buy a 360 for multiplatform games when i already have my ps3 for them. to each is own. just because my friend has a 360, but that doesnt mean i dog him for it…its his choice to own one. he has a ps3 also, but prefers his xbox, but he doesnt dog me for my preference. yea i call it crapbox, its just starting to irritate me how xbox fanboys seem to think ps3 is trash, when most likely they have never owned one, or tried one out.

Considering you understood nothing he said, I wouldn’t be calling him an idiot. He said pretty clearly that it has nothing to do with wanting to get back online as soon as possible.

Instead, it has to do with Sony’s handling of the situation, which I can understand. It took them way too long to warn people that their credit card information may be compromised. That makes me and everyone else with a bank account a little uncomfortable.

Just be glad you werent around for the Sega Saturn, 32x, Panasonic 3DO or Atari Jaguar. They discontinued those so fast by the time you got the console hooked up, the system was obselete! At least Sony is big enough to ride this drama out. It took a lot less to sink the aforementioned companies, and thats a shame. I still miss Sega consoles….

Oh, and fanboys are an embarassment, a blight on an otherwise great hobby. A bunch of whiny tweenies arguing “mine is better”, which basically eqautes to “My dad is stronger than your dad”. They were there in the Atari-Colecovision days, the Nintendo-Sega days, and even today. They are still childish, and still an embarassment.

Most of the hackers responsible are in the 15-21 age group, so you are correct in your assumption that they are “children who feel empowered”. As for fanboys, they will ALWAYS rejoice in in anything that bolsters their fragile egos. Us real gamers already own all the consoles of this gen, and most of the last few generations as well. ( I had a SNES and a SEGA genesis during the “bit wars” of the nineties). Heck I still have the Apple 2c in the garage, when I feel like some Oregon Trail or Conan. Bottom line folks, Sony is a great company who makes a great system. They will be back, and better than ever so dont despair. That said, if you REALLY want your online gaming now, KEEP your PS3 and pick up a xbox as well. Best of both worlds. A real gamer would settle for nothing less. Besides, corporate allegiances are for tweenie fanboys and politicians, both of which are an embarassment to society.

Speaking from experience here, after the credit card #’s were hacked, apparently someone used my account to buy $400 in gift cards 2000 miles away from where I live. Sony responded to me stating that they won’t help me in any way and that I’m on my own. This is their fault and I’m seeking a lawsuit against Sony.

and you act like those hackers are innocent…you might as well stay away from any and all devices capable of internet access, cause that kind of shit can happen to anyone, anytime, and anywhere…everyone should have been doing it the smart way, i’ve been doing it the whole time, use PSN cards…and they’re not rare as some people have been announcing…places that have them: best buy, target, walmart, meijer, and i’ve seen them in every speedway where i live… $20, $50 cards, hell the best buy where i live even carries $10 cards.

These hackers are pretty much just children who feel empowered because they know a little more about computers than everyone else and they got pissed because someone like them got caught doing what they agreed NOT TO when they agreed to the terms of service Sony gave them when they first booted up the damn system. Kids who worship asshats like Che Guevara and consider themselves “revolutionaries” and think they are liberating people from the corporate clutches of Sony and others. In reality they are hurting everyone else BUT their intended target. Microsoft fanboys will rejoice for days to come, but Sony rose from the ashes before and they will do it again. I always had terrible experiences with Microsoft products and their customer service, but I could care less if that is what you prefer. Sony has always taken care of me and my questions and gaming needs, so three weeks doesn’t bother me one bit.

here’s a theory, granted there are those that do have jobs and do make money to buy other games…most that are defecting to microsoft are A) so addicted to online gaming that they’ll spend extra money to have that back now, or B) they take what little cash they do have, trade in their ps3′s and accessories etc etc., and get an xbox and ONLY CODMW2, OPS or both, because the games are so “popular” and couldn’t afford “d**k” else, even if it was staring them right in the face. me, i’m 70 offline 30 online…i say take all the time needed to get PSN fully secured. and IT WILL happen to microsoft one day, its all a matter of time…if one man’s smart enough to create it, there’s always some one out there just as smart if not smarter who will find a way to exploit any holes in microsofts security…its not a matter of IF it happens…its a matter of WHEN.

if your talking to me, i have done my research and yes i know it was apache…sony was cutting corners and even admitted to it. if this intrusion has taught them that they need to keep their security updated to keep information protected and safe, then yes they deserved it. and as for microsoft, i dont care about them and never will. i own a ps3, but that doesnt mean i hate sony…pi$$ed that they have been short on the information giving, yes…but that doesnt mean i’m going to defect, like those like you have or are contemplating on doing so…theres more to life than gaming and by far more options than just online gaming.

Yeah, I guess I am impatient. I just got an Xbox360 and now I can play the new zombie map on Black Ops. The new zombie map is pretty cool (because it is snowing). Yeah being impatient sucks, I wonder if Sony will get the new map pack in June or will it be July because of the downtime. Is the exclusivity agreement mean that Xbox say 30 online days before PS3? hmmmm

People are too goddamn impatient. Let these losers defect to Xbox, if any of this article is even true. There was starting to be too many Xbox Live-ish players coming onto the PSN anyway. Use to I could go into a game on PSN and not be called a noob, ni**er, bitch, or any other obscenity or racial slur every 5 minutes. Sony may be taking there time, but it’s worth it receive a better, more stable, and enjoyable game experience. When Xbox Live was down for 2 weeks back in 2008, they gave gamers jack shit for their wait. At least Sony is rewarding all the gamers for their patience when everything is back up and running. Just deal with it and Sony will deliver as always.

I’m sure the one time disk swapping (Mass Effect 2 – during campaign mode) won’t kill you.
Not being able to play online for weeks is, on the other hand, something really annoying.
I guess the term “you get what you pay for (PSN) was never more accurate than right now.
(Taking those who pay for the “pro” service out of the equation – no, not really).
