You don’t have to browse many message boards to figure out that die-hard fans of either the Xbox 360 or the PS3 don’t really get along with those that use the other system. Who knew that the consoles themselves don’t get along either?
John Davison of 1up found this out the hard way. He keeps both is 360 and PS3 in his entertainment center. They are both enclosed in a cabinet, which he knows isn’t good for them when they are running. Well, the 360 does just fine while closed up, but his PS3 heats up very quickly, so he must leave the door open when playing it.
Unfortunately his son decided to pick up his SIXAXIS controller and pretend to play along with his brother while he played on the Xbox 360. Well, he hit the PS button kicking on the PS3, and after a short while heated up so much that it fried his 360. Ouch.
So the next time you are setting up your entertainment center, remember two things. Keep your consoles in well-ventilated areas and keep your 360 and PS3 separated. They really don’t get along.

The 360 is more sleek but the designers could have been a bit more innovative with the outside of the case, like a green xbox 360 logo on the top, some liken it to a dell optiplex desktop and i agree.
I have a 360 and i dont have any issues with noise and heat, mind u i ise it in a well ventilated rack. The only thing that annoys me sometimes it takes long t lg into my live account when i boot the console up and i have to wait for this b4 i can play anything. Apart from that its a good console.

I can’t understand why so many 360 fanboys love their console, when microsoft have dumped on them so badly with the poor reliability, high noise levels, and new versions of the console, with all the stuff they did not get ready for launch…

Someone should really start making a point about how little the power comsumption of a Wii is compared to the other two. Global warming and ‘Green’ and all that. (As long as Wiiconnect24 is turned off)

none of you guys find it interesting that the PS3 withstood the extreme temperatures and the 360 did not? Shows that Sony knows how to make a good console and Microsoft does not.
GTA was never an exclusive.
Capcom(developers/publishers of DMC4) decided that they wanted to make more money by making it multiplatform. How is this a knock on the PS3?
what about the 360 “exclusives” that are now on the PS3? oh yeah, we can’t talk about them.
and I think that 3.5million units sold worldwide is a great feat for a console that costs $600 and have very, very few games to warrant it’s purchase.
I remember Sony saying, “We could sell the PS3 with no games.”. well, they did..to the tune of about 3.5million.
I don’t know what some of you are talking about, think about this, sure the ps3 stood up to the heat but why does it even get that hot. If the 360 cant stand the heat its because it doesnt have to, systems arnt supposed to get hot enought to fry plastic. And no 360 exclusive, ha. I’d like to see the halo series come out on any other system, then i’ll be surprised and disapointed because the other systems wouldnt be good enough for it.
ive only known two people that have owned a ps3, and both of them sold them.
one sold it to buy a xbox 360, the other guy already owned one(360). i have respect for sony but i just have a hard time believing that they will ever create something as good as xbox live. i fear that if i were to own a ps3, it would end up collecting dust like my ps2 ended up doing when i bought the first xbox.

You fanboys really love your systems…go get laid once in a while…Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PS3…meet the ultimate game…getting laid…you idiots sit around and bicker and fuss and call each other names for a freaking toy that you sit around and get off on…I own all 3 consoles and they all do EXACTLY what the manufactures want them to do…keep you spending loot to have fun…nothing is wrong with fun, but nothing is wrong with either system either. Xbox 360, best online fan-based hands down…best “current” line-up of games for mature audiences hands down…PS3 the monster of the video game market…it cost more because it is more…it’s an entertainment hub…hell outside of a couple games it’s just a really cheap blue ray player with massive potential…will we see it, sure…let it get off it’s feet…and don’t think I mention the Wii last because it is the least powerhouse…it is, but it’s got innovation hands down…collection of games that are fun to pick-up, master in 30 minutes and have fun with. Not to mention that it’s a great baby sitter if you have kids and want to get your game on the other meaty systems…so all in all, each do exactly what they are going to ever do and nothing you fan boys say is going to change business strategy….so play your heart out and go to Best Buy or Gamestop and play the other console once in a while, you may just like some part of it….PCs RULE! :)

oh and the games that just came out on the PS3 is only using 20-30% and 360 is alredy using 80-84% wich means its not better than ps3.pluss ps3 has blu-ray on the games so it can be better lookin on the TV and bigger games. and is a fact

This week I heard that the gaming developers were not making cross platforms games enhanced for PS3.
Xbox has dvd disc space whereas PS3 - blueray obvious is much more which is causing problems. You would think is was the other way around wouldn’t!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If sony could some way get the games out which have been delayed this will sell the consoles.
developers build for the easiest/ most common console and port from there to make sure their largest market is getting a quality product.
if the x360 has 10,000,000 potential sales it gets the developers time and effort.
blu-ray is slower than dvd which is why blu-ray is an issue, if sony had stuck 3xBDrom drives in ps3’s the issue would be reduced. but as it stands a ps3 is reading data slower and it needs to read 2.5 times as much of it to find something. this is why everyone else stuck with dvd. while it’s never bothered sony to make people wait to play games.
the ps3 shouldn’t have built up so much heat, it’s a little ridiculous that modern consoles need specially designed entertainment units for reliable use. luckily mine needed only minor modifications for dedicated console areas hidden during general use (thank you standard wireless controls)
Hey all, I just wanted to express what has happened to me in the last couple of weeks. I was the proud owner of a 360 and hd-dvd add-on. I found the elite a little expensive, but never the less, I wanted the hard drive, after being told i could trade my 360 for $250.00 towards an elite, I just sold it to my brother so he could have one cheaper(wife). I waited for 2 hours on saturday night untill 12:00am and purchased mine along with 4 others(thats all they had). after just one day, my dvd drive failed (there is a video on youtube showing exactly what mine did also) I returned it to walmart, only to find out that all 4 consoles had returned!! ouch!! so at this point i was really pissed. I spent another $150.00 on a ps3 and i am amazed at how this thing blows away the 360, graphically the 360 does not render in 1080p! if so, then why does the ps3 look 10 times better? this is for all the xbox 360 fans: If the ps3 games are looking better than what 360 is right now-and these are launch games- what do you suppose they will look like by xmas of 07`? I would probably keep quiet on the graphics part of this if i was an xbox 360 owner! having said that, the xbox live totaly destroys what sony is trying to attempt! so far this is the only drawback i have with the ps3. oh yeah, the blu ray movies look also 10 times better, then the hd-dvd add-on, and i had tha add-on hooke up with hdmi on the elite—the xbox 360 does not do “tru 1080p hd”!!!!!!

Well i am about as big as fan boys come. I love the xbox 360!!!! well at least i did. I spent so much money on microsoft, easily $1000AU but i just can’t deny the fact now that im happier with my ps3.My 360 was useless it loaded slow freezed all the time and wouldn’t even read games half of the time. well that was my first one anyway the next three were just as bad, i can’t believe microsoft ripped me off so badly!!!!!!!!!!!! Im one of their biggest supporters but obviously that doesn’t mean crap to them. So i have completly converted to sony now and i have to say i couldn’t be happier the console is great, looks really nice too, the 360 looks like a bunch of cheap plastic moulded together.
my friends 360 was getting very hot so he got a usb cooler for the back. After 2 months it somehow melted into the 360 and the 360 would freeze after 20min or so.Also the 360 still has a higher defect rate then the ps3. (i have a ps3 and 360 and like them both but never play the ps3 cuz no games)
I dont even know how people argue over what the better console is……..I have both ps3 and 360 with a 48″ plasma tv….The graphics are about the same. PERIOD. The ps3 is just coming out. It will take them at least a year to get the game developers on board. MOTORSTORM is the best game ive seen(racing and background visuals) come out. I agree the 360 has better game titles but honestly the ps3 hasnt even been out a year. Its everyones preference…I grew up on nintendo and still love the wii but for my age(20’s) we want more storage and more proccesing speed. I support Blu-Ray 110%. Not because I own a ps3 but because the comparisons are kind of a joke. Ive watched movies on both formats and really couldnt see a big difference but dont people want a disc that holds twice the memory???? OR should you just wait and spend some more high priced dollars for another microsoft “add on” Im sorry but as much as I dislike SONY as a company they have a better product for the future PERIOD!

I’m a major 360 fan, but it’s useless to argue about which system is better because people will always think their opinions are correct. I agree with you guys about the 360 and the lack of heating problems. Though for all the people who think the PS3 is completely superior. Take a look at the games for each system. chances are you’ll find that they’re quite similar. Graphics wise. Xbox live and Halo concerned. XBL has been up and running for years making it better. People are willing to pay for it, but not for PS3…I dont think thats a coincednce. Halo, I disagree that other systems wouldn’t be good enough for it but it wouldnt be the same and Bungie would lose a lot of fans IMO.

I just bought my friends 360 (He was hurting for the money :x) Yea it’s a great system… When I went to my friends house (Owns a PS3) we played the 360, simply because we had more games to play for it. Truthfully I am a little worried about my purchase though. XBL is possibly the greatest thing in online gaming, yet the 360 does not have the FUTURE potential. Look at how fast technology is going. I mean the PS2 and Xbox lasted 5-6 years?? In 5-6 years the 360 really won’t live up to anything. 5-6 years 720p will be the minimum anyone will ever have (like 480i is today) PS3 will be running 1080p. 5-6 years DVD will be as VHS tapes are today. Blu-Ray is my choice, but either way…Microsoft did NOT prepare for the future in this console. Yea its a great console…for today. I am neutral as to being a fanboy, but I think Sony might have this one 2+ years down the road… Just my 2 cents, hopefully someone reads this and it makes sense ;)
Also forgot to mention, I am mainly a PC gamer…while it may be more expensive, a PC will never bring about arguing such as these consoles seeing as how you can customize it how you want it and make it do what YOU want it to do. Console gaming will never surpass PC gaming as far as GAMING (not talking about integrating media with the family and all that junk) I’ve always been a console gamer, but I’ve realized that PC gaming is the way to go…if you can afford it.
Then again 5-6 years both the 360 and PS3 will be as obsolete to the PC’s as PS2 and Xbox are today…so either way it doesn’t matter. Do what makes you happy TODAY. You only get 1 life, do whatever you want with it and don’t waste time criticizing other people for making the choices they did :P

After reading all this shit, i have decided that im going to get a PS3 because it jsut better thats a fact. i know the xbox 360 has wayy better games, but thats because the ps3 hasnt even been out for a year. Therefore in a little while PS3 is oging to have good *** games.

I loved my 360. When it actually worked. Gears of war was hella fun. I wish it would of worked long enough for me to experience Forza 2. :( my point being the 360 is cheaply made. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still own one if I wasn’t jaded by having to send it in 3 times for repair. And then, the 4th time i needed it fixed, Microsoft told me I was outta luck. But they would gladly fix it for $120.00 (US). I hope for you xbox fans the elete is made better (though from what i hear it is not.) Having been inside both the 360 and PS3 Quality in construction goes to PS3 hands down. I just don’t feel like shelling out another 300-400 bucks just to get a system that might work for a year tops. That being said I know many people that have 1st gen 360’s that work perfect to this day. I just know more people who have had problems with them.

Your a ******! Microsoft would never sell its no.1 xbox game.
Resistance was an ok game at best, (nice graphics, repetitive gameplay). And its worth mentioning it only sold around 1million copies. Whereas gears of war has sold nearly 4 (3.7) million!
As for the rest of you xbox bashing sony fanboys:
Consoles are about the games not the specs. Yes ps3 has better graphics than xbox, but only slightly better. And its architecture is so complex that most multi-platfrom games actually look better on the 360. FACT! The graphics tend to be slightly sharper on the ps3 but the lighting is way off & colour seems a little washed out. And from what I’ve seen on the xbox the lighting effects are better & there is better more vibrant colour. Also frame rates tend to be better on the 360.
And as for games, I’d choose the 360 any day. Yes, give it another year or two & the ps3 will have more games, but its quality, not quantity that matters! Just look at the ps2 - 1000’s of games (of which, IMO, the majority sucked!)
And the ps3 has lost almost all of its ‘exclusive’ titles already. With soul caliber 4, resident evil 5, assassins creed… As a matter of fact I can only think of grand turismo 5, ffxii, tekken & mgs4 that remain exclusive. And out of them mgs4 is the only game that I’d actually want to play. And due to the shear cost of production - we’ll likly be seeing mgs4 on the 360. Plus we’ve got great exclusives such as halo 3, halo wars, gears of war, fable 2, dead or alive & dead rising.
Oh & I forgot to mention that Devil may cry 4, Grand theft auto 4, Armored core 4 all will be coming to the 360 as well! :D
Also: I hate final fantasy!
I just want to say that very single person I know to own a xbox 360 are ******* mad because their systems fail to them, they didnt last a month, so all of them dicided to buy a ps3 now 6 months later after they bought a ps3 they havent had a single problem they are so ******* happy with ps3, and btw im also a mad owner of a “out of warranty”x
