What’s the problem exactly? Is someone going to set out on a big trip without downloading their games first, where on the world will they be away from some form of WiFi access and if they can’t get WiFi a good 3G signal is unlikely to be available either… non-story IMO.

Sony is loony. And after the whole PSN network fiasco, the bloatware updates and the Linux nerfing, you guys are nuts even considering supporting these renobs. Its like buying a car and taking it in for a free service check and them delivering your car saying they disabled the cruise control and 5th gear while installing 12 cup holders and a few more brake lights.

“Surprising”? I don’t think so. I had this exact conversation with my brother early today, and as I told him, Sony always pulls stunts like this. They even encrypt the files on their digital voice recorders–you know, so you can’t pirate your own grocery list.

Not really getting the first part. I understand that it won’t be compatible with previous devices, but how can they say future devices? Unless the author of this article work for Sony and know something we don’t, who’s to say that Sony can’t make another device that can use this same memory card?

“proprietary memory card” = FAIL. No Vita for me. One of the best things about the PSP was the ever-decreasing price of the memory cards, which was great as it about kept up with my ever-increasing number/size of files I stored on the device (pictures, then mp3s, then movies, etc.). If you think Sony is going to drop the price of the memory cards at anything near the rate they would fall under non-proprietary market conditions you are on crack.
