Princeton Japan announced 16:9 entry-level 19-inch monitor

Princeton technology announced today an entry level LCD monitor to its current line up. The PTFBGF-19W adopts the increasingly popular 16:9 aspect ratio widescreen panel, measures in at 18.5-inch and can support a 1366 x 768 resolution. Deficit in resolution but the TN panel boasts a Dynamic Contrast of 5000:1, with brightness up to 300 cd/m2 and has a fast response rate of 5ms.

This monitor is as basic as it gets, there are no built-in USB ports and the screen is not adjustable. Connectivity is limited to a DVI port that is HDCP-enabled, and a VGA input. The viewing angles, as expected, are rather constricted at 160/170 degrees, which is quite typical for all 16:9 panel we've seen.

The affordable PTFBGF-19W is expected to be launched in mid December with an estimated price tag of 14,800 yen ($162).
