Many print publications are having one of their most difficult years ever. The poor economy has meant that advertisers are not buying ads like they used to at the same time that subscriber numbers are dropping and production costs are up.

Many newspapers are looking to paid digital mediums as a way to save themselves from extinction. These digital mediums include the Amazon Kindle and the Sony eReader. A company called Pressmart has announced that it is offering digital format newspapers for both of those devices today.

Among the papers that the company offers in digital formats are Philadelphia Inquirer, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Birmingham Post, Bangkok Post, the Sun, Hindustan Times, Deccan Chronicle, and Indian Express. The digital formats are also available on computers and mobile phones.
