POV video shows ride down world's tallest water slide

Later this summer, the world's tallest water slide will open up in Kansas City's Schlitterbahn Waterpark, offering adrenaline-seekers the opportunity to get wet and possibly lose their lunch at the same time. To give future riders an idea of what they're in for, the folks behind the slide have filmed a POV video.

Called the Verrückt, this water slide will take users — strapped into a four-person raft — down a drop of a little over 168 feet, then immediately back up a second hill, only to drop again for another 50 feet. The park's website offers up some static pictures looking down the water slide, but you can't quite appreciate its steepness from pictures alone.

To give a better idea of what the slide offers, the Schlitterbahn Waterpark strapped a camera to a sandbag and sent it down for a watery ride. The video it recorded — featured below — was then upload to the resort's YouTube account, where it says details on construction first aired on the Travel Channel yesterday.

You can see different angles of the giant water slide in a gallery on Schlitterbahn's website, as well. According to KCTV5, the Verruckt was supposed to open this past Sunday, which did not take place. This marks the third delay for the slide's opening, and no new launch date has been provided.
