The word porniere is translated as “START” or Begin, not Home as suggested. Home is acasa (similar to spanish).

I don’t quite see the wild scandal in this story.

I’m actually for Romania and the translation is quite wrong. Pornire means Start. Yes, it could be synonym with Home, but to avoid it they could’ve easily translate it as Acasă (Home), like many other translators did in their software.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that they did it on purpose as a geeky way to counter Jobs’ comment.

I’m telling you all, “Porn.”, in Romanian language is not an accepted abbreviation.
We do have the word “Start” which should have normally be used in this situation.
Whoever let this slide for the romanian market launch, I can tell for sure, giggled a lot and knew what was going to happen!LOL!

I think that it’s the abbreviation of the word Romanian word “Pornire”, which is used to denote the Home or “Start” screen.

It looks to me that is says ‘Pom’ not ‘Porn’.
