My wife and I each have a laptop at home connected via a wireless router. At the moment we also share a USB external drive that is connected to my laptop. So, if my laptop is off, she cannot access the “shared” external drive. When I saw a Pogo at the Wal-Mart, it looked as if I could tie it into my router, plug the external drive into the Pogo and put the router and Pogo and external drive onto the same power strip so that, when the router power was on, the Pogo and Ext HDD would be functioning and she could access the Ext HDD even when my PC/laptop was shut down. But, reading he box and reviews to date, I cannot find out if this will work and the “log on to Pogo to activate” scares me. I do not want to access the drive connected to the Pogo via “the net” because we use a dial-up access (NetZero 9.95/mo) at home and it would not work with Pogo anyway. Question – can I do what I want to do if I buy a cheap (first Edition) Pogo?

Does anyone know how sophisticated this device is in streaming blue ray movies onto a phone or a tablet? Iam a big streamer, and I’am digging this mini server/cloud storage from home thing, but if It will take forever to stream HD movies, then I may have to keep looking. Google Drive i thought would stream good, but gives to much bs for streaming big movies.

the only issue i have with mine so far is that there are a lot of basic feature missing from the media player. Is shuffle too much to ask for on this thing? Besides that it has been great.

It will stream to any DLNA enabled device. I stream movies to my tv (through my Playstation 3) and my phone. Streaming over the web has been a challenge but I blame my ISP’s upload speed for that.

Unfortunately this device did not offer multi-users for a family of 7 to be able to share photos, media and certain files with own independent unique log-in User ID and password. What a shame.

can you add please, search, view options, folder customization, and etc. It is very inconvenient. There is also sync folder problem, It does not sync recently added files. Otherwise, this very very good idea. Help me a lot.
