i disagree, i think Richadd has a good point.You should be able to access your local files via your own network as well as via the web. Is’nt that the way NAS drives work?

Umm.. its cloud based? Are you confused what that means? Its like screaming about not having internet access when the power is out. Not recommending on this point is pointless.

I have one of the first gen pogoplugs and it works great. However they are constantly releaseing devices and never really address problems with older devices. Bad business practices INMHO.

Users ask for things and instead of implementing them they simply release a new device and force users to pay for said device if they want those new features. Sounds like every business model LOL

The comment about not being able to access content in the network if their internet connection goes down. At least you still have acess to the data by grabbing the USB connected device.

I had a Pogoplug – for a couple of days. I sent it back when I discovered that you can’t access your own files which are sitting in the same house if your Internet connection goes down. I DO NOT recommend Pogoplug.

apparently they are having issues with IE and Firefox users accessing their website. Suggested Chrome or Safari as a workaround. I wouldn’t worry- a backup site doesn’t need to be concerend with accessibility/reliability/uptime, right? Sounds like a promising start!

sounds good except that their homepage isn’t responding- Don’t think I really want to keep my data in a cloud I can’t get to.
