It may just be me, but looks like place right under the weird “S” is a track pad. Possibly allowing for both thumbs to work as…dare I say, two joysticks?!

It would be a cool idea if they could link it up with your ps3 so you could play your games form the ps3 on your phone anywhere in the world. They also need to put some sticks on there. All you would need is the little one on the PSP but 2 of them. I could never figure out why they never put 2 sticks on the PSP. I don’t like how the controls are different from my consol. Its BS that they cant add a L2, R2 and a second controller stick.

It doesn’t play PSP games, ergo its just an Android device with exclusive games.
Not so much a PSPphone as a branding exercise.
Sony would be more sensible to just release their next handheld in two flavours, one with and one without a phone…but both with the same game format.

I bought an N-Gage and loved it, but that just was me and a few hundred (if even that many) of others, not hundreds of thousands of 2003 phone users. Hah, most people didn’t even have phones that could take pictures at the time.

I didn’t mean to say people don’t want gaming on a mobile platform–but I could see how my post could come across that way.

I meant that gaming-specific “convergence devices” have a very poor track-record here in the States. They have had to compromise on one thing to be able to do the other, and have not struck that proper balance. Plus they are too niche to really get enough of a return to be profitable.

Why get a PsPhone when you can get some high spec’d android phone that will allow you to play PsP games .. and for free?

It can be done, but that balance is hard to find. MS is able to do it because the draw is that they have Zune AND MS Office AND Xbox to market. Sony has PsP AND … ? Um …

Why do people keep comparing this to N-Gage? Have you seen an N-Gage? The POS never had a chance. Are you kidding me with these comments about people not wanting gaming on a mobile platform? Sony wont be able to keep these on the shelves (as long as they do it right). Apple claims to be the king of the mobile gaming platforms, seriously? I think not, and all you apple fanboys need to wake up, Microsoft and Sony will reign supreme!!!

Whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute “ugly”? I don’t think it’s that ugly (cept for android–only stating a preference, not attacking it so quick whining about troll this or troll that).

I think it’s kinda neat, but probably won’t sell many more than the N-Gage did. People don’t seem to like “console phones” very much. They like phones that are console capable.
