Sweet Zombie Jesus, who cares about BC?! When I owned a Master System (yes I’m that old, Google it if you’re staring blankly) I didn’t bitch because the Mega Drive wasn’t backwards compatible. In a strikingly similar vein, when I got an N64 I didn’t scream and shout because I couldn’t play my SNES carts on it.

Why stop at moaning about BC for PS3 games, surely it should play PS, PS2 and PS3 games! If you still want to play PS3 games, then keep your PS3! This sense of entitlement is starting to wear thin…

Not gonna buy a PS4, then, I guess. Cloud services may be an interesting thing when they’re OPTIONAL, but I would never store my personal data in a cloud, and I do not care for so-called “cloud gaming” either. I do not want to be dependent on their shitty support, and their shitty servers to play a fucking game, I want to put the game into the fucking drive and play it, no matter if I have internet connection or not!
It’s all well and good when a console launches, but it will become obsolete eventually, and what then? When the PS4 is no longer supported, how will you play ANYTHING?

They’re trying to make people more and more dependent on them, they try to take control over what you can play, when, and how. And I, for one, am not going to buy into this sort of thing.

And the lack of physical BC is only the latest slap in the face that adds to the Bullshit that’s already there. This announcement and all it stands for is Sony’s way of telling us that they don’t give a shit about us. And they’ll only pretend to give a shit when they want our money. You’re not getting mine, Sony, you’re not!

UURRGH FUCK THE CLOUD, it’s a good idea in concept but this means that you MUST have Internet constantly on and at about 6mb/s or more if you want to play ps3 games…

Interesting point, I have two PS3s bought by myself, not by my mommy, and over 90 physical disk games prob about 50 or so more linked to my psn. I still have my ps2 and about 30 games i did not sell. I played them for a while when I got my ps3 but cant say i have played any in a few years now. So as I said I will keep my ps3 and enjoy them but I’m sure after a while I will be more interested in whats new.

Im not surprised at this point but I really didnt want to end up selling my profile so I can keep some worth to it and going XBox… Im sure there are plenty of folks that would be happy to buy a FULLY B/C PS3 along with my well over $2500 grand of DLC for a cool grand…

Iv been Sony’s biggest fan-man plenty of times but I can only be punched in the face and tricked into thinking its good once or twice, after that I start to wonder why I keep blacking out here and there and waking up feeling like I was just given it dry, without even so much as a courtesy reach around!!!

Um… lets see? Anyone whos had to spend their own money to purchase the content they have right now. While your PS3 does not turn to dust, Im sure that sonce EVERY store purchase you have made for the PS3 ONLY… which is no longer sponsored… will most likely no longer be available either. So you best have everything your gonna want for the rest of your PS3′s life installed.

To someone with THOUSANDS of dollars into them, in good faith the next model they want me to buy will play what Iv bought from THEM to begin with or Im done having ANY faith in them. That means Im selling my profile on the PSN… probably for quite a discount… to go buy an XBox.

This is the last kick in the guts someone who’s mommy didnt buy it all for them is going to take. This one fact, and Ill bet a kick in the giblets on it, will insure the Playstation 4 is Sony’s last chance at console’s. The Playstation line will become even less than the DreamCast over all the BS their customer service has been, and now they are telling me ANYTHING I BUY from the store right now is going to be essentially useless… but hey, go buy our newest model and we will let you buy it again, but remastered!!!

Ask George Lucas how many times people want to have their money taken then shown they were an idiot but hey that word remastered was in it…

With all their talk about downloading games from their cloud service and how they’re wanting to make downloading games instant AND the fact that they showed everything but the actual console, I’m starting to wonder if this system will even have a physical disc drive. Think about it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see once we get some more details.

ehhh…more bandwidth usage for consoles…I guess that’s good, as long as ISP’s don’t start implementing bandwidth caps.
