As well as their new Elite BDP-05FD and BDP-51FD Blu-ray players, Pioneer have also announced a fresh projector for their high-end KURO range. The Elite KURO Projector continues Pioneer’s track record of incredibly deep black levels, and supports full 1080p high-definition. It also has the latest LCoS 1080p processor.

Connections include dual HDMI 1.3, and there’s wide lens shift and a multitude of other picture tweaks available. Pioneer have programmed three preset modes – standard, dynamic and movie – that are best suited to different types of movie. For instance, dynamic works better with fast-moving sports footage.

Pioneer’s Elite KURO projector will begin shipping in June 2008 for a suggested price of $9,000. It’ll be available through the Elite dealer channel, who specialise in home-install setups.
