Not disappointed by the price, in the least.

But having a lifetime of involvement in the mobile electronics industry, and seeing the industry itself slowly decay over the past 10 or so years due to an ironic lack of progression - it's groanworthy frustrating to see Pioneer stuck and unable to see beyond the bygone days of "iPod integration".
This is nice for people with iPhones, but of questionable value for anyone else.

So perhaps I should be disappointed by the price, also. Once upon a time, the electronics automotive aftermarket was able to command premium prices for good gear. Prices fell, quality fell with it (today's amplifiers are shockingly low-end compared to the 90's), and now Pioneer is getting $400 for their head unit, which itself is better suited to 2007's market than the world of 2011.

For $400, I'd buy this in a second - I'm looking for a good double-DIN for my Sonata.
But I'm not an iPhone guy, so they've ruled me out by making an iDevice-limited head unit.
Think bigger, Pioneer. Think 2012, not 2007.

This is what's kicked your ass for the past 10 years. I've been there with you.
