Photoshop Sketch summons spirit of Bob Ross for iPad Pro

The iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil are being used in a video series made by Adobe in collaboration with Bob Ross, Inc. These videos are a part of a four-part series showing what one might do with the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil, and the app Adobe Photoshop Sketch. Digital painting is done, happy little trees are made. You'll begin with a lovely, beautiful white, blank canvas, and from there you'll expand your mind from the ground to the mountains.

Before you go wild about Bob Ross not actually appearing in this video, know this: the folks entrusted with his estate are overjoyed to allow his essence to continue to thrive, especially when it has to do with making artwork like what you're about to see. The first video is a preview, showing what it took for our artist here, Chad Cameron to transform into the one and only Bob Ross.

Next you'll find the first in a series of videos from Adobe. Notice how the Cameron uses an easel to keep the iPad Pro propped upright while he makes his painting a reality.

"When Adobe approached us about their project we were thrilled to hear that Bob Ross had touched so many of their lives too," said Joan Kowalski, Media Director, Bob Ross Inc.

"Bob's wish was to inspire as many as people as possible to be creative and to share it with others. Adobe's Joy of Sketching series is wonderful and reminds us that a company as big as Adobe shares in that hope. We were pleased to be a part of The Joy of Sketching. Adobe paid attention to the details to make sure it was not a parody but homage to Bob. For example, they asked us about the brand of clothes he wore and the types of easels he used. It showed us they really cared. We miss our friend very much. It was lovely to see the likeness of him once again."

Expect more of these bits over the next few weeks. Until then, dive in to our iPad Pro first look and our entire iPad Pro collection.
